Lindy BNX-60 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones

Lindy BNX-60 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones

These are called Lindy BNX-60, a  nice wireless pair of noise cancelling headphones from the excellent Lindy, one of the UK and Europe’s leading suppliers of Audio, Video and IT accessories.  Lindy explain they are dedicated to quality, choice, value for money and excellent customer service. Lindy certainly achieve these goals especially value for money and, with with no lack of detail, the quality is here to.  I’ve had the Chromo IEM-75 in ears and was impressed with their value and detail, the same is happening here.

…I’m amazed at the quality and detail available here, particularly at this price…

These Lindy BNX-60 headphones use advanced Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity with aptX® technology to wirelessly deliver high quality Hi-Fi sound whilst also removing 85% of unwanted background noise. The headphones are closed backed, over ear, so you’ll need your wits about you if you are on the street, as you do end up being quite isolated.

The headphones feature a rechargeable battery which is amazing really so you don’t need to mess around with daft AAA batteries. The USB charging cable is included (an iOS compatible device will indicate charge level, otherwise you get an audible warning of impending silence, or noise, depending on how you view it!) and if the noise cancelling runs out you can just plug it in with a normal cable.

The Lindy BNX-60 headphones feature an integrated microphone with on ear controls for managing annoying calls when you are listening to music! Voice dialing is included when the headphones are connected to an appropriate smartphone.

The Lindy BNX-60 headphones not only come with a hard carry case for portability, but also feature a mesh pouch containing a Micro USB charging cable, 3.5mm audio cable for wired connections, a ¼” stereo plug adaptor and dual-plug flight adaptor for in-flight entertainment compatibility.

Lindy BNX-60 – Quality

The ‘phones feel well built, with the black soft feel plastic that is very comfortable. All of the controls and general set-up is intuitive, I’ve had no issue at all with these headphones after several hours of listening on the move.

Pairing is absolutely fine, using my Nexus smartphone, and PowerAmp serves up excellent high resolution files in my experience.

On my head the Lindy BNX-60 headphones are very comfortable, not too tight or loose and a sharp head wiggle keeps them on my head no problem (let’s say I have a normal sized head!).

Performance

The performance from these headphones is absolutely fine and I’m amazed at the quality and detail available here, particularly at this price.  There is a bit of a hiss, particularly at quieter moments, but it goes goes from your consciousness after a while. I do need noise cancelling on however, if it is off they’re not so good, I imaging this is a drive thing, I’m not sure.  In terms of resolution there are good levels of detail here, listening to my Ryan Adams live FLAC recordings is fine with plenty of enjoyment and depth here.

Vocals are pretty good and pianos are fine, I switched to Coldplay’s ‘Everything’s not Lost’ and it was a good sound.  The bass is accessible here with these headphones particularly with higher quality sources; streaming Kendrick Lamar on Tidal was fun (whilst making a cup of Earl Grey, no wires, perfectly safe).

Overall

I’m very impressed with these headphones at this price point.  I think if I were looking for some active wireless headphones these are well worth a try.  If you’re not going to be too concerned about street credibility you’re fine, although you could argue being independent in choice and not looking like Premiership footballer is ‘cred’!
